Area Organizations
AEOA is a non-profit organization and established as a Community Action Program (CAP) for the northeast Minnesota counties of St. Louis, Lake, and Cook. Service delivery for some programs has extended to the four neighboring counties of Aitkin, Carlton, Itasca, and Koochiching.
Currently, AEOA employs more than 350 full- and part-time staff and utilizes more than a thousand volunteers divided among five major departments: Arrowhead Transit, Head Start, Housing, Employment and Training, and Senior Services.
The Babbitt Conservation Club is a group of folks who are interested in shooting, hunting, and conservation who has regular meetings and fun events. Our purpose is to give back to the environment and to the communities where we exist. One of our community activities is sponsoring the Youth Firearms Training classes. Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month April through October at 7:00 p.m. at the rifle range. Trap shooting Tuesday nights at 5:00 p.m. from June through September.
