Finnish-American Homestead Tours
A unique look at the handcrafted pioneer log farms that were common in Northern Minnesota at the turn of the century. Our guide will get into your vehicle (or lead you in theirs) to various farmsteads. Plan on a 2-3 hour tour of the log homesteads. You will also visit a small locally made craft outlet and other area sites as time allows.
Tour restored Finnish homesteads, log buildings, and the Nelimark Homestead Museum (a Finnish craft shop and museum). Open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Tours begin at the Embarrass Information Center located at the intersection of County Hwy 21 and MN State Hwy 135.
